GACE Paraprofessional Practice Tests
GACE Paraprofessional facts for Georgia candidates, and free general practice
What is the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment?
The GACE Paraprofessional Assessment (test 349) is Georgia's own assessment for paraprofessionals, and it is current. Pearson has run GACE testing since July 1, 2025. Georgia sets the passing score in Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) rule 505-2-.18, and Pearson's test page lists the details below. Check both for any change before you register.
- Test fee: $49
- 90 selected-response questions
- 2 hours of testing time
- Passing score: a scaled score of 220
GACE vs. ParaPro and ParaPathways
The GACE is not an ETS test. ParaPro was retired after August 31, 2026, and ParaPathways (5757) is the ETS test that replaced it, with its own scoring scale, so a ParaPro or ParaPathways score is not a GACE score. Whether Georgia accepts an ETS score is a question for the GaPSC and your district.
What our practice is, and is not
The practice material on this site is general reading, writing and math practice. It is not the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment, and it is not identical to it in format or content. Use it to review skills, and use Pearson's GACE test page for the test itself.
Confirm current Georgia requirements
Confirm with the GaPSC and with your own district which assessment and score apply to you before you register.
- Georgia Professional Standards Commission: gapsc.com
- Pearson's GACE test page for test 349
- Ask your district what it requires and accepts
Test day
Pearson and the GaPSC set the registration steps and test-day rules for the GACE. Read them on Pearson's GACE test page and in your registration confirmation rather than relying on a summary here.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the GACE Paraprofessional test the same as the ParaPro?
No. The GACE Paraprofessional Assessment (349) is Georgia's own test, run by Pearson. ParaPro was an ETS test that was retired after August 31, 2026, and ParaPathways (5757) is the ETS test that replaced it.
What score do I need to pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment?
A scaled score of 220, under GaPSC rule 505-2-.18 and as listed on Pearson's test page. Confirm it with the GaPSC before you plan around it, because rules can change.
How much does the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment cost and how long is it?
Pearson lists a $49 test fee. The test has 90 selected-response questions and 2 hours of testing time.
Can I use my ParaPro score from another state in Georgia?
ETS keeps a ParaPro score you already earned on record for ten years and can send your official score report to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission or your employing district. Whether Georgia accepts it, and at what score, is a question for the GaPSC.
