Free Accounts
When you create a free account, we store your email address, the language of the page you signed up on, where on the site you signed up, when the account was created and confirmed, and when you last signed in. If you choose to receive study tips and offers, we also store that choice, when you made it, the country you made it from and the wording you agreed to, so we can show what you asked for.
We use your address to send you sign-in links and to open the free practice tests for you. We send study tips and offers only if you chose to receive them, and every such email lets you unsubscribe. We check the email provider against a list of throwaway mailbox services; that list is not shared with anyone.
Signing in sets one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Your answers to practice questions are saved in your own browser, not on our servers.
We also count how the site is used, for example a test opened, a sign-up step or a click on a buy button, with the page, language, country and whether the visitor was signed in. These counts never include your email address.
To close your account and have your address deleted, use the contact form.
The Book Launch Email List
When you ask us to email you when the study book is out, we store your email address, the language of the page you used, the edition you asked about, and the date. We use it for one thing: a single email when the book is published. After we send it, we delete the list.
To stop the sign-up form being abused, we keep a short count of sign-ups per network address; those counters are cleared as new sign-ups come in, and we delete any that remain when we send the launch email.
To be removed before launch, use the contact form and we will delete your address.
Records of Paid Access
When you download or read the book, open a premium practice test, or open a flashcard deck or the glossary, we record the time, your IP address, country and browser. We use these records only to apply the refund policy and to answer payment disputes, and we keep them for 24 months after your purchase.

Lemon Squeezy
Handles payment, if you buy
If you buy the study book, we store the email address you bought with so we can give you access to what you paid for, and we send a sign-in link to it through Amazon SES. Payment itself is handled by Lemon Squeezy; we never see or store your card details. To have your purchase email deleted, write to us β deleting it also removes your access, so we will confirm before we do it.
Your Rights
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
The Contact Form
There is no public email address. Refund requests, questions and school enquiries go through the contact form. We store the email address you give, your message, the order number if you add one, the language of the page, the topic you chose, and the date, under a reference number.
We use it to answer you, and as a record of your request: a refund request has to be documented, and a payment dispute is answered from it. We email you a copy of what you sent, with the reference. We also keep a short count of requests per network address and per email address to stop the form being abused.
We keep a request for as long as it takes to answer it and to answer any later question about the payment it concerns. To ask us to delete yours, use the contact form and quote your reference.
