3
What reading skills does ParaPathways test?

ETS lists skills such as finding the main idea and supporting details, working out word meaning from context, drawing inferences, judging word choice and tone, understanding text structure, recognizing the author's perspective and purpose, interpreting data in tables and graphs, and evaluating evidence in an argument. It also covers early-reading skills such as sounds in spoken words, phonics and fluency.

4
How can I improve my reading speed for the test?

Practice active reading regularly with diverse materials. Focus on reading in meaningful phrases rather than word-by-word. Minimize subvocalization (saying words in your head) and avoid re-reading sentences unless necessary. Timed practice tests help build both speed and accuracy.
